What We Believe – The Gathering Place Houston
At The Gathering Place Houston, our foundation is unshakable—the eternal Word of God. We hold fast to the truth that has been established from the beginning and remains forever settled.
The Word of God
We believe the Holy Scriptures are God-breathed, infallible, and the final authority for life, faith, and practice. His Word is alive, active, and able to transform every soul that receives it.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God…” (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
The One True God
We believe in one true and living God—eternal, sovereign, and holy—revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!” (Deuteronomy 6:4)
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God—fully God and fully man—born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again in power and glory. Through Him alone comes salvation.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6)
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by works, but received through repentance, surrender, and belief in His finished work on the cross.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith…” (Ephesians 2:8–9)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who dwells within every believer—guiding, teaching, convicting, and empowering us to live holy and fruitful lives. He leads us into all truth and equips us for Kingdom purpose.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things…” (John 14:26)
Holiness and Transformation
We believe that those who follow Christ are called to live set apart, walking in righteousness, obedience, and continual transformation by the renewing of the mind.
“Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ—a living, unified people called to worship God, build one another up, and carry the Gospel into all the earth.

The Great Commission
We believe we are called to go forth and make disciples of all nations, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness, love, and truth.

The Return of Christ
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ, who will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal Kingdom.
