My life has never been the same ever since I truly surrendered it completely unto the Lord God Almighty. The moment I stopped resisting the will of God and allowed the ruling abiding presence of the Holy Ghost to take full control of my heart, mind, spirit, and direction, everything within me began to change. My desires changed. My understanding changed. My vision changed. Even the way I viewed this present world system changed because the Spirit of God opened my eyes to realities I could not previously see while walking according to my own understanding.
Yet with this surrender also came warfare, resistance, opposition, misunderstandings, spiritual attacks, and continual attempts by the enemy to sidetrack the manifest will of God operating within my life. But through every trial, every affliction, every battle, and every attack against my soul, the abiding presence of the Holy Ghost continues empowering me inwardly to keep pressing forward in obedience unto the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord began revealing to me the deep spiritual truths found within Jeremiah chapter 19, where the prophet Jeremiah was commanded by God to take a potter’s earthen bottle and proclaim judgment against rebellion, stubbornness, and spiritual corruption. The Lord instructed Jeremiah in Jeremiah 19:1-2, “Thus saith the Lord, Go and get a potter’s earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests; And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom.” Jeremiah was sent as a prophetic vessel to speak the truth of God even though the people refused to listen. He was rejected, resisted, opposed, and misunderstood because the truth of God often confronts the rebellion hidden within the hearts of humanity.
As I meditate upon these scriptures, I realize that every true servant of God who surrenders fully unto the will of the Lord will eventually experience spiritual resistance from those who refuse to submit themselves unto the truth. The enemy does not fight what already belongs to darkness. Satan fights against the manifested light, authority, and presence of God operating within yielded vessels. This is why the believer who truly walks with God often experiences continual opposition. Yet the Spirit of God strengthens His people inwardly to continue walking faithfully despite the warfare surrounding them.
The Lord said in Jeremiah 19:15, “Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city… all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.” This scripture reveals a dangerous spiritual condition that still exists today. Many people hear the Word of God outwardly, but inwardly they resist the correction, conviction, holiness, and surrender required by the Spirit of God. Hardened hearts reject truth because truth demands repentance. Truth demands transformation. Truth demands submission unto God.
When I fully surrendered my life unto the Lord God Almighty, I quickly discovered that spiritual warfare became intensified because the enemy understood that a yielded vessel in the hands of God becomes dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. The adversary constantly seeks ways to discourage, distract, tempt, oppress, frustrate, and sidetrack those who are determined to obey the Lord wholeheartedly. Yet through all of this, the Spirit of God continues reminding me of the truth found in Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” The attacks may come daily, but the sustaining power of the Holy Ghost remains greater than every opposition standing against the purpose of God.
There are moments when the warfare becomes emotionally exhausting. There are seasons when misunderstandings, rejection, and afflictions seem relentless. Yet through every battle, the Holy Ghost continues to strengthen my inward man. The scriptures declare in Ephesians 3:16, “To be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” This inward empowerment cannot be explained naturally because it flows directly from the abiding presence of God Himself dwelling within the surrendered believer. There are times my flesh feels weak, yet the Spirit of God continues urging me forward with supernatural endurance.
I have learned that obedience unto God will often separate you from people who once walked beside you comfortably when you were spiritually passive. Once you fully surrender unto the Lord, your life becomes a testimony against compromise, lukewarmness, and rebellion. Just as Jeremiah became a prophetic witness unto a rebellious nation, the surrendered believer today becomes a living witness of the righteousness, holiness, and authority of God in the midst of a darkened generation. This is why persecution often follows genuine obedience.
The Lord Jesus Christ warned His followers in John 15:18-19, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you… because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” The more the Spirit of God transforms your life, the more uncomfortable your presence becomes to those who desire darkness rather than light. Yet despite the opposition, the child of God must continue pressing forward faithfully.
There are days when the enemy whispers discouragement into the mind attempting to produce fear, doubt, weariness, or hopelessness. Yet the Spirit of God continually reminds me that surrender unto God was never meant to produce comfort according to the flesh, but rather transformation according to His divine will. The Apostle Paul declared in Philippians 3:13-14, “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” This pressing forward requires endurance, spiritual discipline, faith, prayer, and complete dependence upon the Holy Ghost.
What keeps me moving forward daily is the abiding ruling presence of God living within me. The Holy Ghost is not merely an emotional experience. The Holy Ghost is the empowering Spirit of God actively leading, correcting, strengthening, comforting, teaching, and sustaining the believer through every trial of life. Jesus declared in John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost… he shall teach you all things.” Without the continual guidance and empowerment of the Holy Ghost, none of us could stand faithfully against the darkness of this present evil world system.
The Lord continues teaching me that surrender is not a one-time moment, but a daily decision. Every day I must crucify my flesh, deny my own understanding, and submit myself afresh unto the will of God. Every day the enemy seeks opportunities to distract the mind away from the purpose of God. Yet every day the Spirit of God supplies fresh grace, fresh strength, and fresh direction for the journey ahead. The Word of God declares in Galatians 5:16, “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Just like Jeremiah, there are moments when the burden of carrying the truth feels heavy. Yet the fire of God within the surrendered soul refuses to allow silence in the face of darkness. Jeremiah himself confessed in Jeremiah 20:9, “His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones.” This same fire continues burning within every believer who has truly surrendered themselves unto the Lord God Almighty. The enemy may fight against the vessel, but he cannot extinguish the fire of God dwelling within the yielded heart.
Today I understand more clearly than ever before that the warfare surrounding my life is confirmation that the Spirit of God is actively working within me. The enemy does not waste time attacking spiritually dead vessels already bound in darkness. He attacks yielded vessels carrying the light, truth, authority, and presence of God. Yet through every trial, the Lord remains faithful. Through every affliction, His grace remains sufficient. Through every attack, His Spirit continues strengthening me inwardly to keep moving forward in obedience unto Him.
Therefore, no matter how fierce the opposition becomes, I refuse to turn back from the Lord who rescued, transformed, and filled my life with His presence. I will continue pressing forward through prayer, obedience, holiness, faith, and surrender because I know the One who called me is faithful. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” The Holy Ghost continues ruling within, and by His power I will continue walking forward until the will of God is fully accomplished in my life.
