There are many who profess with their lips that they are born-again, yet daily their words are spent speaking against others, sowing seeds of division rather than grace. I speak not as one observing from afar, but as one entrusted with the care of souls—as a servant called to watch, to warn, and to lead in righteousness before the Lord. For the mouth is not a casual instrument; it is a wellspring, and what flows from it reveals the true condition of the heart. The manifest Word of God makes it plain that such conduct should not be found among those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
The Spirit declares with clarity and conviction in James 3:10 (KJV), “Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” This is not a gentle suggestion—it is a divine correction. A life transformed by the Spirit does not use its tongue as a weapon against others, but as an instrument of life, prayer, and edification. When one is truly born again, there is a divine shift—speech is no longer governed by the flesh, but by the Spirit of God.
As the appointed Pastor of The Gathering Place Houston, I speak directly and without compromise to every member and follower connected to this ministry: be mindful of what the Word of God declares concerning this behavior. Idle talk, gossip, slander—these are not small matters in the sight of a holy God. The Scripture warns in Ephesians 4:29 (KJV), “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” The assignment of the believer is not to tear down, but to build up; not to expose in pride, but to cover in love and intercede in prayer.
If there is fault in a brother or sister, the call is not to broadcast it, but to bow the knee and seek God on their behalf. The righteous response is intercession. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV), “Pray without ceasing.” And again in Galatians 6:1 (KJV), “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness…” This is the ancient path, the way of those who walk in true spiritual maturity.
Let it be clearly understood—this is not a light warning, but a necessary one. The Word of God does not leave room for compromise in this matter. Those who persist in such unbiblical behavior without repentance place themselves in spiritual danger. The Scripture declares in Galatians 5:19–21 (KJV), “Now the works of the flesh are manifest… hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings… and such like: of the which I tell you before… that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” A lifestyle marked by strife and division is evidence not of the Spirit, but of the flesh.
And let every soul remember this unchanging truth: what you sow, you shall surely reap. This principle is not bound by time or culture—it is eternal in its operation. As written in Galatians 6:7 (KJV), “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Words are seeds. Every whisper, every accusation, every careless statement is planted—and in due season, it will bear fruit in your own life.
Therefore, I urge you—return to the discipline of the Spirit. Guard your mouth as one would guard a sacred gate. Let your words be seasoned with grace, anchored in truth, and guided by love. Pray for one another. Lift one another. Cover one another. For in doing so, you walk in alignment with the Kingdom of God and reflect the nature of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
